Good bye 2012!

I can't believe this is it. The end of 2012. When looking at all the photos and drawings on Pinterest welcoming 2013, I can't stop myself taking a photo of my new drawing and say thank you and good bye 2012. Thank you to you all again and I have a wonderful year.

Necklace DIY

I have been thinking to make this style of necklace with polymer clay for ages but I always got caught up with other things! This necklace is easy enough for kids to make and the mix and match with colors are so much fun !
Most of the people use Fimo soft modeling clay but I just bought some Sculpey clay from Spotlights and they worked out fine. After I made them into different shapes, I used a wooden stick to make holes on the beads and then baked them for 15 mins at 130 degree.
The necklace is so easy to make and it's so much fun! It's good for presents for your girlfriends too!!

Boxing day

Have you opened all your presents yet? Hope you have nice and dry Christmas! I have to say I am a bit disappointed this year for the boxing day sale! Have you noticed all the Westfield are closed today except the one in the city? As if the yucky weather isn't sad enough! All supermarkets and shops are closed around our area so we can't even get some potatos to make potaots bake for our friends party!
Anyway, have you done the Myer online boxing day sale? I did it last night and all the women clothes that I liked are out of stock... since I have spent two hours online looking for bargain for myself and couldn't get any, so I bought some undies for Iain instead... oh well, at least I bought something...

Pie Tin - The Art of Pie

Have you heard of the Pin Tin at Newtown? We found this place by accident and we're completely in love with the sweet and savoury pies there! I was hoping to get the slow roasted shredded pork with apple & bbq sauce but it's all sold out so we have the slow roasted beef brisket, hickory smoke & mushrooms and spicy cajun style pork slow cooked with corn and black beans instead! The taste absolutely matched the long fancy name. They are fantastic! There was a humongous apple pie called "The Pie That Ate Newtown". We haven't tried it coz we're so full after the coconut custard pie, but this apple pie is definitely on our list when we come back!

Motor Show

Went to the Motor Show at Darling hahour on Saturday and it was a great show! I know nothing about car but I have a very good time at the motor show. Lots of fancy cars to look at and try on. I was a bit disappointed there were no BMW and Audi but you know what... I was glad that the show was kind of small coz I don't want to spending my whole day there.

Scala & Kolacny Brothers

I am not sure which ad it was but but the song of the ad Every Breath You Take (originally sung by U2) by Belgium choir Scala & Kolacny Brothers catches my attention. I Shazam the song and I found this Belgium choir has been out for a while and they sing quite a bit of pop songs which are specially made arrangements of well-known musicians and bands such as Oasis, Björk, Radiohead, U2, Nirvana, Depeche Mode, Muse, Rammstein, etc. Their songs have been on movies and tv shows as well. I don't think you can download their songs on iTune or Spotify. One of the album is only available to download in UK and US.... but you can listen to their songs on YouTube, they're really good!

While sitting at the work desk and day dreaming. I would love to dream to go to Canada. Iain and I love all the mountains, trees, bear etc etc. It's a beautiful country has too much to share. People always talk about the animals, the snow and the nature of this country but I've never heard of Canadian food. When I did a search on Lonely Planet today it said " Canada is a local food smorgasbord. If you grazed from east to west across the country, you’d fill your plate like this: lobster with a dab of melted butter in the Atlantic provinces, poutine (golden fries soaked in gravy and cheese curds) in Québec, a bulging slice of berry pie in the Prairies and wild salmon and velvety scallops in British Columbia (BC)."

Oh well... sounds good to me!
